SIMPLY UNUSUAL.......THAT'S WHAT I..D.E.A.S. IS ALL ABOUT...

A Normal Saturday in the college.... low attendance, people gearing up for their last submissions!!! some roaming in fear about the internals ....while others are just here..to take their positions and start a usual weekend!!!!!
suddenly what you see... a girl fully decked up in the campus .. okay we get it girls do deck up... but in ghagra-choli?? that too in college?

Maajra Kya Hai Bhai.....???

A murmur is heard across the corridors...preparations are galore... . yes the new bees are busy having a weekend classic time in the lobby..rangolis are made, flowers are being pinned up..(yes that is how we term it in architecture- sheets are made and are being pinned up..like that!)

a beautiful design on the entrance foyer...

The point is that the students have a penchant  for all types of festivities be it janmashtami, holi or for that matter be it the NAVRATRI.....and celebrating all these things shows a sense of harmony among
st them!!!
Unfortunately the 5th and the 4th years couldn't be a part of it! and those among who remained absent...you guys missed it...!!!
ON this auspicious occasion the IDEAS FAMILY wishes all its members a happy navratri and a prosperous year ahead!!!!!

SOME GLIMPSES....... the juniors at their best....
A first year student Chinmay Pathak put it very correctly - IT WAS THE FIRST EVER ACTIVITY CONDUCTED BY OUR CLASS, THE MUSIC,GARBA MADE US DANCE TO THE VERY HILT. IT WAS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE...!!!!

* on behalf of all the batches, we appreciate the efforts of the first years and congratulate them for the event!!!
...........HAPPY NAVRATRI AND HAPPY DUSSHERA!!!! MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!

Happiness is ..........

HAPPINESS IS… BEING QUALIFIED FOR ANDC TROPHY
Yes ....IDEANS did it again....!!!

Annual NASA Design Competition is the qualifying trophy for the Convention.
Topic of ANDC-13 was ‘Architectural Sensitization, an observation...’ we had to choose a site in the CBD of the city and were expected to give a proposal for a project within the modern context with due respect and acknowledgement of the old.

Before everybody sticks back to their work....let’s make this more interesting......we are sure that the young IDEANS don’t have much knowledge about NASA....

“The National Association of Students of Architecture, commonly referred to as NASA, is one of the largest communities of architectural students in Asia. 208 colleges of the architectural community are members of this organization. NASA provides an interactive platform for students all over the country by holding conventions both at the national and zonal levels. Colleges all over India compete for the prestigious trophies which cover various aspects of architecture. We strive to provide assistance to the society through the ideas that develop during the convention. The ideas that materialize during this conglomeration are also used to provide technical assistance to the economically backward sections. The conventions also witness participation from various colleges in countries under SAARC. Architects across the SAARC nations have an opportunity to interact with each other and come up with productive solutions”.

Co-ordinated by Kunal Welekar and executed at Vinay Girhe’s place, we on behalf of the whole unit of Ideas congratulate team Andc for their commendable job in the competition and look forward to their success in the Hyderabad round. A REVERENCE TO THE TEACHERS......

While moving ahead in this fast paced life, we often forget to thank those
who have contributed to our growth. Yes these are our teachers who tirelessly work with us, like an encouragement without demanding anything in return and only wish for their children to succeed in life. The teachers’ community needs a thanksgiving and a sheer motivation for the inspirational work they do out of interest.

The Teachers’ Day was celebrated with a lot of zeal and fervour at I.D.E.A.S. on 10th of September. The theme of the function paid tribute to the traditional educational culture prevailing in the Indian Sub-Continent. Rendering a beautiful composition of Sharda Maa by Sawani Wakharkar, the traditional ceremony of lighting the lamps took place. As the moments passed, we realised that the hall had grown in a sensitive silent place thus registering each and every picture in the minds of students……

We were enthralled…

“Music prevails in nature. Lend them ears they will resonate in your heart.

This simple truth was exemplified by the young Ideans who conceived a fabulous idea of live music with their crude instruments. That kind of talent is being looked forward to….Chinmay- Shruti gang please gear up!!!!  A classic medley of various folk dances showing the cross culture across the length and width of India were performed by the students. Indeed, the Ideans are gifted with the correct steps, jhatkas and the proper beats..!

“It was a peaceful moment to see the teachers enjoying the programme with a wide grin on their faces...”

With a deep gratitude laying within for their teachers… a small memento was gifted by the students having a silver Pan Leaf, Supari, and Flower which symbolised a Ganesh idol. The celebration came to an end with a sumptuous traditional lunch – patodi rassa!

We look forward that I.D.E.A.S. witnesses many such Teachers’ Day in future. The function was tended to by the 2nd, 3rd, 4th year students in association with the CONCEPT ‘S’!
